Tumbling is a technological process of cleaning and pre-treatment of the surface of solid materials. It is used for abrasive cleaning of small workpieces and parts from scale, burrs, molding earth, as well as for leveling the surface of small parts. The essence of the tumbling operation is the running-in of parts together with abrasive or polishing materials in a drum rotating at a speed of 21 rpm. When dry tumbling, parts are processed only with dry materials: metal balls, sand, stone chips, granite fragments, etc.
