The GB-300 tumbling machine (hereinafter referred to as tumbling) is a rotating container filled with abrasive material. Tumbling is designed to improve the quality of the surfaces of parts in a rotating drum with the addition of an abrasive.
It is used for rounding edges, removing burrs (after punching, cutting with a guillotine, cutting with a band saw), scale and flash (after plasma cutting, autogen), rust, molding earth and more.
GB-300 finishing machines are equipped with frequency converters for soft start and change of drum rotation speed.
Tumbling is the process of cleaning and pre-treatment of the surface of a part. It is divided into two types: dry and wet. When dry tumbling, dry tumbling fillers are used.
During wet tumbling, various buffer solutions are added to the fillers. The material and shape of the tumbling fillers, as well as the buffer solution, are selected based on the material, the shape of the part and the required surface quality. Steel shot, slag, grinding wheel breakage, pebbles and special types of abrasives can be used as an abrasive, depending on the technology used. The duration of the tumbling cycle, the type of abrasive, the ratio of abrasive and parts are determined experimentally.
